To keep every appointment calm, on time and focused on you, please review these policies before booking.
Important Maintenance Policy
If you have gone longer than three months without professional loc maintenance, a consultation is required before booking a retwist or maintenance appointment.
This allows the stylist to evaluate your locs and determine whether you need a standard retwist, crochet maintenance, repairs or complete restoration.
Booking & Deposits
A non-refundable deposit of $25 is required to secure every appointment. Your deposit is applied toward the total cost of your service.
- Appointments are not confirmed until the deposit is received.
- Consultation-required services (starter locs, crochet maintenance, extensions, restoration and reattachment) are scheduled by the stylist after your consultation request is reviewed.
- Prices listed as "starting at" may increase based on hair length, density, number of locs and time required. Any changes will be discussed before your service begins.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
- Please provide at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.
- Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice will forfeit the deposit.
- Appointments may be rescheduled once with notice; a new deposit may be required after that.
- No-shows forfeit the deposit and may be required to prepay future appointments in full.
Late Arrivals
Out of respect for every client's time, please arrive on time. A grace period of 15 minutes is provided. Arrivals after 15 minutes may incur a late fee or need to be rescheduled, and the deposit may be forfeited.
Hair Preparation
- Most services include a professional shampoo — please arrive with hair free of excess product.
- Express Retwist and Style clients must arrive with hair already thoroughly shampooed, completely clean and free from buildup. Additional charges may apply if extra preparation is needed.
- A loc detox does not remove lint or permanently stained buildup.
Consultations
Consultations help ensure you receive the right service at the right price. When requesting a consultation, please upload 3 to 5 clear photos of your hair and locs in natural light (front, back, sides and roots).
After review, your stylist will contact you with recommendations, final pricing and available appointment times.
Private Studio & Location
Modesty Locs is a private, home-based studio in Manchester, CT 06040. For privacy and security, the complete address is not published. The exact location will be provided to confirmed clients before their appointment.
- Appointment only — no walk-ins.
- Please do not share the studio address.
- Please come alone unless prior arrangements have been made.
Payment
The remaining balance is due at the end of your appointment. Accepted payment methods: cash, card, Cash App, Zelle, Apple Pay.
